Odin x Cider Puppies

Chapter IX: The Seventh Week
(Day 43- Day 49)

August 25, 2008
(Day Forty Four)

The past few days have been a blur. Our central a/c went out again and we need to replace the coil. Very annoying especially since the house is only 2.5 years old. But, thankfully, the part is still under warranty. We made them do a temporary fix until the part comes in so at least the house is a decent temperature now. The pups did pretty well though despite the heat -- we just wet a lot of towels and put in their pens and had fans on them. The bigger dogs took it a little harder but all is well again.

One of the neighborhood kids rounded up the troops today so that the puppies could meet some kids of different ages and they really had fun. They were very sweet and just wanted to kiss the kids faces. Much gentler than I remember Coda and sibs being at this age.

We tried a couple of new bowls (raised, smaller opening) for Chorus and it was the same big ole mess. We had been soaking the kibble for 5-6 hours before feeding and it just got too mushy and she just kept mashing it into the bowl with her pawss. We tried kibble only soaked for 20 minutes yesterday and that seemed to work MUCH better! She started to get that! YAY!!!

Sade gets back in Austin today (after her Disneyworld vacation during the storm) so we'll have help once again :-) I'm so glad because I am so behind in household chores and have a million errands to run!
